Kurtosis
A statistical measure used to describe the distribution of a set of data around the mean.
Kurtosis describes trends in charts. A low kurtosis portrays a chart with skinny tails, a high kurtosis one with fat tails.
Low kurtosis means that the distribution is concentrated around the mean while high kurtosis means that the distribution (of returns) is uneven. See also Skewness Related Terms: [ Skewness ]
